In 2018, a research team from the Australian National University undertook an Individual Deprivation Measure (IDM) study of multidimensional poverty in South Sulawesi, Indonesia.
The findings of the IDM study in Indonesia provide a deep insight into the multidimensional poverty of different social groups, and reveal that different deprivations are experienced throughout the life course; women and men with disability experience acute deprivation; and geographic location reveals unequal experience of deprivation.
